Medical Organization Objects to His Talk About Letting Baby Die.
CHICAGO, Dec. 15. Dr. Haiselden has been expelled from the Chicago Medical Society for unethical conduct in exploiting his action in permitting the defective Bollinger baby die without an operation. Haiselden had signed several statements in defense of his action and these statements, and not the failure to operate on the baby, were the cause of the action of the Society. In further defense of his actions in telling the whole truth, Dr. Haiselden says that for two thousand years physicians have subscribed to the policy of secrecy on subjects that should be published for the enlightenment of humanity. The whole matter has been brought into the limelight again by the action of the society and medical opinion is threatened with a serious division on the question.
