Remodeling Labor At Weslaco Sped

Special to The Monitor.

WESLACO. Feb. 11—Work of remodeling the front of the drug store owned by T. G. Cressner, the first of a series of Main street buildings here which will be revamped in the city's business district modernization outlay, will be completed by Feb. 20, Cressner estimated today. The job, costing about $350, got under way the past week. Ultimately each store front along the street will be remodeled and all will be changed to a Spanish type of architecture, giving the street a harmonious appearance.

The project, valued at a total of $12,000, is being financed by the federal housing administration.

Cressner said about 200 persons had called upon and written to him regarding the work on his building, which starts the unique city-wide program.
