Full Text

The Ward Meetings.
We have received several communications and
statements alleging irregularities and unfairness in
the conduct of the Ward Meetings on Tuesday
evening. We have declined, and must decline, to
publish any such except as advertisements. The
newspapers are not the proper forum for the settlement of any differences which may arise in the
Wards. But we may and do implore the Whigs
of each of the three or four Wards in which there
are heart-burnings to remove them at once, by
conference and conciliation. This may far easier
be done Now--to-day or tomorrow--than after-
ward. Sternness in adherence to principles, mutual concession as to men, eminently befit the
Whig party. These will ensure a glorious triumph.
