I. R. KILLAM TO HONOLULU

Assistant Secretary of Y. M. C. A. to Do Association Work There.

Lloyd R. Killam, associate secretary of the Y. M. C. A. here the last two years, will sail for Honolulu, Hawaiian Islands, in September to become associate secretary of the Y. M. C. A. in that city.

Paul Super, who visited here last week, is the secretary of the Y. M. C. A. there.

Mr. Killam is one of four men who will be chosen from a number of applications for positions in the work in Honolulu. Ten men will continue the work next fall under Mr. Super.

All of these men are Americans and all but one are college graduates.

Mr. Killam will have charge of the religious work conducted by the Y. M. C. A. The population of the city is 52,000 which includes many different nationalities.

There are 10,000 Americans living there and a large number of Chinese and Japanese.

The Y. M. C. A. workers conduct all their services in English. All the natives over 15 years old are required to learn English.
