Lola Montes has met with great success from the million in Boston, and at her last performance the stage was strewed with flowers from the audience. At the close of the performance she was called out, when she spoke as follows:
Ladies and gentlemen—I beg of you to receive my most sincere and grateful thanks for the generous reception I have met with in your beautiful city of Boston—the Cradle of Liberty—the Athens of America. (Cheers.) May I hope ever to merit your kind patronage. Once more, from my heart I thank you all. Ladies and gentlemen—good night.
