With a tight defense and sharp shooting, the Flyers from the Naval Air Station poured the pressure on the slow moving Jr. Conch aggregation in the High School gym Saturday night.
The locals just couldn't do anything right in the long, drawn out contest.
For three quarters they managed to stick with a much more experienced five, but they collapsed and fell apart in the final period. The terrific shooting of Carroll, Davis and Wellman for the Flyers was the big factor causing the J. V.'s to take their shellacking of the evening.
The Navy boys made use of every opportunity to score against the Conchs' sloppy defense.
Young Sat Calcagno brought the only cheers from the crowd in the final quarter when he dumped in six points in the final minutes of the contest.
Archer and Gales paced the losers' attack with 11 counters each.
