Assurance of foreign and territorial service is having its effect in securing recruits for the army, according to Major Buckner of the Denver district who was in Casper today on a tour of stations in Wyoming.
Three recruits were received here Monday and several applications were filed early this morning.
Under special dispensation of the department, volunteers are given their choice of service in Europe, Panama, Hawaii, the Philippines or China with the definite understanding that they are to be sent to the place selected. Many returned soldiers are enlisting. Those who failed to get across during the war are showing a preference for European service while others are selecting territorial service.
