American Ambassador Entertains King of Portugal.

Paris, December 16.—The American embassy was the scene of a brilliant reception when King Charles of Portugal was the guest of honor of Ambassador and Mrs. McCormick. The embassy was beautifully decorated for the occasion. King Charles chatted at length with his host and hostess and mingled democratically with his guests. Charlemagne Tower, the American ambassador to Germany, and Mrs. Tower, Mrs. Carroll, of Baltimore, and Madame Leishman, wife of the American minister to Turkey, were among the guests.
