LAYS NECK ACROSS RAILS

Warsaw, Ind., Nov. 8—Charles Haines, 15 years old, was instantly killed at Sidney yesterday afternoon. He walked to the crossing of the Nickel Plate railroad and laid his neck across the rails in front of an approaching passenger train. The tragedy was witnessed by a number of people and all say the action appeared to be intentional. This however is contradicted by relatives, who believe the boy was stricken by an epileptic attack as he was crossing the tracks. He was subject to such attacks. The engineer made every effort to stop his train in time to save the boy. Haines was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Haines of Sidney.
