Another Disastrous Fire There.
St. John, N. B., Oct. 30.—Early this morning fire broke out in the Exhibition Building at Fredericton; a large wooden structure, stored with agricultural implements, sleighs and carriages, which was soon destroyed. The fire crossed the street and consumed the house of William McLaughlin, badly damaged Andrew Lipscomb's residence and destroyed the house and barn of Thomas Torrens. A strong northwest wind carried the cinders a great distance, firing St. Dunstan's Church, the park barracks and several dwellings, which are considerably damaged. The fire was the result of an incendiary, and Mark Conroy was arrested on suspicion. Great excitement prevailed, and if due evidence points to Conroy as the guilty party, there will be lynched. Loss $30,000. Uninsured.
