FACTS FOR FARMERS.
Unusually large crops of corn, cotton and tobacco have been planted this season.
The Bohemian oat, an old humbug, is being pushed again by traveling agents who sell it, and the farmers who buy it, at $10 per bushel.
It ought to be more generally known that wheat flour is probably the best possible article to throw over a fire caused by the spilling and igniting of kerosene. It ought to be known, because flour is always within convenient reach.
This is a good month to make a final overhauling of the coops, directing all necessary repairing, and, if needed, make additional ones, so that when the hens come off with their broods, you are prepared for them.
If the quarrelsome man wants his dog and cat to be the same he gives them raw meat. The same holds good with poultry. Raw meat is not so easily digested, and is not as nutritious as cooked. Don't feed too much meat; but don't fail to give a small quantity from time to time.
Rye sown this month will make an excellent summer pasture for milch cows and give a larger return of rich milk and butter than the wild and coarse grasses and weeds of the woods.
