Lodestars In - Coastal Airlines Pilots Are Rushed

Clouds lifted today and commercial airlines flurried with activity, more than 50 persons moving to and from Juneau by plane.

Pan American brought two Lodestars from Prince George, with airmail from the States. Arriving here were R. L. Miller, E. H. Elwin, Les Teagle, B. B. Mozee, Miss Kay Mack and B. F. Heintzleman.

Another Lodestar, with Ross Slain and Mrs. Helen Anderson as passengers, left Juneau for Seattle with a heavy load of airmail and express. An Electra went from Juneau to Fairbanks with Bob Bartlett as passenger. Another Electra was expected to arrive from Fairbanks late this afternoon.

Meanwhile, three Alaska Coastal Airlines pilots virtually spent the day in the air, returning to Juneau for new loads as fast as they could discharge passengers at island points.

Besides the following passengers, transported by pilots Alex Holden, Dean Goodwin and Shell Simmons, 20 others were to be brought to Juneau by this evening:
