Hulan Jack Accused
NEW YORK - Hulan Jack, $25,000 a year borough president, who holds the highest administrative elective office of any Negro in the nation, admitted accepting a $5,000 loan from a man trying to promote a multi-million-dollar city contract. Jack was ordered to appear before the New York County grand jury. Jack said at a news conference in the office of Realtor Sydney Ungar, the man who gave him the loan, that he intended to pay the money back. Ungar also was subpoenaed before the jury investigating the transaction.
