Full Text

The friends of Calhoun are moving throughout the country. His enviable character as a man, his splendid powers as a statesman, his long and faithful public services, are telling effectively among the people. His prospect for the presidential nomination is every day brightening.—Holly Springs Guard.

We are glad to hear it. We were almost in despair of his receiving the nomination. It would be hard, indeed, if after all the sacrifices of consistency Mr. Calhoun had made to ingratiate himself with the Loco Focos, the nomination should "enure" to some body else.—Memphis Enq.
