Strong and well-founded expectations are entertained that the Federalists will succeed in the approaching election for Senators in Maryland. The Friends of Truth and Sound Doctrines are numerous and respectable in that state; and nothing more than an honorable exertion is wanting to ensure a complete triumph. The Democrats, as usual, may be expected to resort to their old trade of misrepresentation and lying. However, they have so long practised these tricks, that little danger is to be apprehended, as the people's eyes are at length open to the delusions of cunning and folly.
