PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

In another column will be found the President's Message, which was communicated to both Houses of Congress yesterday, and the substance communicated by Telegraph in time to enable us to give a notice of the same in yesterday's Republican and Argus. The message has disappointed those who expected "blood and thunder," and large boastings; but its earnest recommendation of speedy action on the subject of annexation, will not disappoint the friends of that measure, among whom we number ourselves. The message gives a comprehensive and faithful abstract review of the correspondence between our minister and Rejon, and is a document of great interest. We have no room for comments—indeed none is necessary, as the message is short, and should be read by every one. All we have to say is, the people have declared for annexation—let their servants do the people's bidding, and that, too, as speedily as calm deliberation will permit.
