"We have information upon which we entirely rely, that this famous document [the Ohio Letter] was not written, as the Editors of the Ohio papers stated by "a Representative in Congress from New-Hampshire," nor by any other member of Congress. We have moreover what we believe to be the name of the person who actually wrote that letter: but it is not material at present that the name should be made public."
"Our information is derived from a gentleman of high respectability in Cincinnati, who writes us as follows. "The letter was directed to Gen. Findlay, our Representative in Congress; a friend of mine has read the original, and assures me that the signature, whether genuine or not, is"—. The name we omit for the present."
