Full Text

Among the many Writers in the London Papers, one who signs Anglo Americanus, says that in the Proceedings of the Town Meetings in Boston, they (the Bostonians) openly arraign the whole Legislature of Great Britain, and accuse the King, Lords, and Commons of this Realm with having violated their fundamental Rights: that they have dared to insult Majesty itself, &c. &c. that the two Papers which are called a Petition and Instructions (in June last) are in direct menacing terms of a declaration of war. That the Town of Boston mean to render themselves as independent of the English nation, as the Crown of England in of that of Spain. That the Nation is treated by them in terms of stronger menace & insult than Sovereign Princes ever use to each other:--This writer, then to bring the Comparison which of them speaks in the higher tone, extracts from the declaration of war against Spain in 1739, & the declaration of the town of Boston in 1768 and goes on with greater severity: but we give it only that our Readers might not be ignorant of what is published at Home.
