DARING CRIME.

We of Dallas recollect the bold robbery of an express messenger, in open daylight, upon one of our principal streets, by mounted robbers. That such a defiant theft could be successfully consummated in broad daylight, in a well policed city of fourteen thousand people, created not a little stir among us. Now we have the particulars of a robbery equally as daring. The United States express car on the St. Louis, Kansas City and Northern railroad was entered about twelve miles from St. Louis, by masked men, the messenger seized, bound, hurled into a chest, and securely locked in, while the highwaymen proceeded to rob the safe of some twenty or thirty thousand dollars. So well planned was this sudden attack that it proved a success, and up to this moment no capture has been effected. In fact, the clue to the robbers is so slight as to preclude the idea of ultimate arrest.
