The constitution of the United States is the rallying point of all true friends to their country in every political emergency. The pending election is one of those interesting occasions on which they should display their attachment to this palladium of their rights. The contest involves all that is dear to us as independent citizens of a free government. Morgan and Israel are placed on different grounds, so that the candidates out of view, personally considered, the contest is for principles, which are, and ought forever to be dear to us.

Look at the two descriptions of persons opposed to each other. The supporters of Benj. R. Morgan are the supporters of the laws, the friends of order and peace, the props of the trade, commerce and mechanical arts of this great emporium of the Union They are the sober, discreet, substantial house-keepers, the industrious, thriving citizens who possess property, or hope, under the protection of the laws to acquire it. They are the fathers of families, who love the country in which they were born, and who exult in the prospect of handing down to their posterity that independence, those laws, rights and privileges for which they fought, bled and conquered. These are the friends of Benj. R. Morgan. Of such men every country should be proud, they are its bulwark, and the prop of its existence. On the other hand, who are those who advocate the election of his competitor. With few exceptions, they are men who hate the constitution, and the civil and moral principles which form the basis of our independence and security-They revile the heroes who effected the salvation of our country in the contest for all that is dear and sacred to freemen-- they rake up dirt with the foreign and domestic enemies of the United States-they reprobate the administration of the government, and encourage our foreign foes in their depredations on our commerce. They anticipate the time when the barriers of public and private faith shall be broken down, when all confidence shall be destroyed, and the floods of licentiousness shall sweep away all those principles that give peace and security in life, or hope in the hour of dissolution-Are such men the friends of their fellow-men--are they the friends of the poor of the mechanics, of the industrious honest citizens-are they the friends to the rights of person and property-are they the friends to private individual happiness, or the general prosperity of this country, this commonwealth, or of this city! Alas, all our experience says no.

Shall we then suffer ourselves to be out voted by them-forbid it, the guardian genius of United America.

To show how impossible it is for a democrat to be rational, on any subject, seems to be a fatality invariably attendant on the efforts of citizen Bache. His notions about neutrality, are as crude and preposterous as his conceptions of liberty, equality and republicanism. In truth it is his occupation to pervert and obfuscate ; and it is not more extraordinary that he should confound neutrality with imbecility and cowardice, than that he should imagine every qualification of a legislator to be included in the word Republican--that he should confound liberty with turbulence and anarchy -and that he should expect to make his comfort or his happiness comport with a career of impudence, falsehood, and blasphemy.
