Eleven Navy Nurse Corps officers, members of Class WN-30-62, are scheduled to graduate today in ceremonies at Women Officers School.
The graduates, representing seven states, 10 schools of nursing and four colleges or universities, will receive diplomas from Chaplain Edward A. Slattery, Officer-in-Charge, Chaplains School, who will be the guest speaker.
ENS Peggy L. Hopper of Charlotte, North Carolina, a graduate of Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing of that city, has been elected to speak for the graduates.
Honor Student
Mrs. Michael Curran, representing the Women's Division of the Newport County Chamber of Commerce will present an award to LT Dorothy J. Douglas of St. Louis, Missouri. The award is in recognition of her distinction in academic and military subjects which placed her first in her class. LT Douglas is a graduate of St. Louis University and received her Master's Degree from Washington University.
Following the ceremony, Class WN-31 will host a coffee in their quarters for the graduates, their parents and friends.
