Several Revenue and other bills have, since our last advices, passed in various stages.
The amendments of the Senate, for augmenting the cavalry to 380, and retaining a Major General, were non-concurred, in the House.
The American Seamen Certificate Bill, and the Mint Bill have passed. The continuation of the last is limited to two years.
A Bill providing for the payment of the monies borrowed of the Bank, we hear, has passed the House.
The Senate, we understand, has non-concurred the Resolution for admitting the new state of Tennessee, into the Union.
The reason alleged, are, that agreeably to the deed of cession from the State of Virginia, Congress must first lay off the territory in one or more states, and that the enumeration must then be taken under the authority of Congress. They recommend that a bill be brought in, laying out the whole of the said territory into one State, and providing for an enumeration of the inhabitants thereof.
This would delay their admission now.
