The Trustees recently purchased two large, beautiful flags, Christian and American, and during the morning worship services the Pastor observed dedication services in presenting the flags to the church.
Mrs. Hazel Hensey, Mrs. Irene Collins, Miss Harriet Smith and Rev. and Mrs. Lawson were delegates to the Boston East Association meeting held at First Baptist Church last Saturday. Pastor Lawson attended Christian Education Lenten Institute at Boston University, Saturday, March 16. Mrs. Mildred Sparrow, Mrs. Gertrude Smith and Mr. Joshua Bonds, Deacon and Mrs. Elmer Valentine left for a three weeks vacation. They plan to visit with relatives and friends in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; Cleveland, Ohio; Detroit, Michigan and Rochester, N. Y. Mr. Henry Anderson and his sisters, Mrs. Helen Bailey and Mrs. Marian Phillips honored their father, Mr. Cornelius Anderson, with a surprise birthday party last Sunday afternoon at the Women's Service Club. Mr. Anderson observed his 70th birthday. The shut-in and sick list includes Mrs. Emma Gray, Mr. Peter Sneed, Mrs. Florence Purdham, Mr. Joseph Bullock, Mrs. Hannah Farmer, Mrs. Josephine Collins, and Mrs. Katie Webb are included on the list of the sick.
