Another School Term Begins

The public schools of the country open their 1930-31 term today and in Nogales, as in every other city and town in the nation, happy throngs of children will be hurrying to school to enroll for the term and to receive their assignments of studies and classes.

In Nogales and Santa Cruz county some new faces are seen in faculties, as well as in the class rooms and to those who have just come to Santa Cruz county, both teachers and pupils, the Nogales International wishes to extend a hearty welcome.

Education is the foundation of our civilization and teaching is one of the loftiest of modern vocations. Under the guidance of the proper teacher our children grow into sturdy and creditable manhood and womanhood and become the substantial citizens of the future.

And not only is the education in our public schools confined to the mind, but the physical development of our children is made an important part of the program. Proper athletic training is most essential if a child is to reach the point of maximum development.

Under the able direction of our city and county school superintendents and faculties, the children of Nogales and Santa Cruz county have advantages which we believe are superior to those of many other communities, and we predict for 1930-31 the most successful term in the history of our school system.
