CLARK TO SET ACES IN SCRAP SEPT.29
Duplicating the innovation ushered in at Alabama on September 13 when stars of other Hornet grid teams are to combine to meet the prospective varsity of 1935, Clark University is staging a Ex-Aces-Present Varsity tussle on September 29.
It will see much former football foes as Donald Reeves, Squat Johnson, Hogmaw Robinson, Walter Hamley, Tom Fagan, Leslie Baker, Johnny Chisholm, Kitty Dalton, Ric Roberts, Johnny James, Walter Pickett, Bellboy Cosby, Ralph Cunningham, Malcolm Ward, Dinny Moore, Charles McPherson and others unite in an attempt to match the youngsters now sporting the Clark spangles.
Against this array of have-beens the Clark varsity expects to send a host of expected new material and call on the Panthers of 1934 save Puckett and Perrin, Carl Ray, Wellmaker, Snead, Wainwright, Littlejohn, Curry, Jenkins, Williams, Vaughn, Watts, Langley, Adams and McCarley are expected to smear the older aces all over the premises. The game should make good entertainment and the Clark staff plans to work hard to put the idea over during the next two weeks. If the ex-greats should win by any perverse stroke of fortune it will be an awful thing if someone should attempt to deflate their heads.
