Soldiers Prepared to Entrain for Training Camps on Short Notice.
Complete mess equipment, new overcoats and other regalia needed by Company M and the Machine Gun company arrived this morning and both contingents are now ready to entrain for any training camp to which they may be ordered. More equipment is enroute here, but this will not be needed before the soldiers reach camp.
No orders to entrain have been received and the men of both companies still believe that Palo Alto will be the training camp, despite the numerous official reports to the contrary. The Grand Forks guardsmen are chafing beneath the yoke of inactivity and are anxious to depart to whatever point the government may choose.
Daily hikes and drills are given and a jaunt of from three to eight miles each morning aids in keeping the men in good condition. Orders are expected at any time and it is the general belief that departure will be taken before next Sunday.
