Full Text

Another Terrible Explosion in Alleghany City.—The Pittsburgh Post says that, on Tuesday afternoon, the boiler used at the steam planing machine, on the bank of the canal, between the Hand street bridge and the aqueduct, in Alleghany city, exploded, doing much injury to the machinery and the building. The machinery is entirely ruined—one side of the building was blown clear over the canal; a part of boiler passed through a pile of boards adjoining the building, and lodged in Mrs. Warn's bedroom, a considerable distance from where the explosion took place. The engineer was slightly injured; no other person hurt.
