The national conference of Unitarians met in New York on the 7th. The address of welcome to the delegations was made by the Hon. T. D. Elliott. Rev. E. Hale, of Boston, read the report of the council of the national conference. Fourteen local conferences have been established. A business committee was appointed, as follows: D. B. Eaton, of New York; Rev. Mr. Woodbury, of Providence; Messrs. Carter, of Chicago; Frothingham, of Buffalo; and Forbush, of Cleveland. After some discussion of the question of local conferences, an order of business was reported. The subject of theological schools was then discussed. Rev. Mr. Collyer read a paper on the subject, and addresses were made by Rev. Dr. Garnett in favor of the absorption of the school of Boston into the Boston College.
