CHARLESTOWN (S.C.) Nov. 14.

WITHIN the last two weeks upwards of 20 vessels have arrived here with cargoes of flour, salt, rum, molasses, sugar, dry goods, &c. &c.

A more favourable opportunity for trading adventurers than the present perhaps hardly ever occurred. The coast, we have every reason to think, is entirely clear, and were it even otherwise, the demand for goods occasions such prices being given as amply compensate the risk:

Besides, insurance can now be had on pretty moderate terms.

Captain Richard Bissel, of Rhode Island, arrived yesterday from St. Augustine, in Bath's pilot boat, which he purchased there and cleared out for Jamaica, but preferred coming to this port. He informs us that he left that place the 8th instant; that the whole regular forces in East Florida does not amount to 1500 men, and most of them new recruits, whose appearance denotes their late intimate acquaintance with Newgate and the whipping-post; that the Otter and Hinchinbroke lay off St. Augustine bar, and that an armed sloop was stationed in St. John's river.

Osborne, who is well known in Georgia, by his piracies on that coast, was fitting out a small sloop to go on a cruize.

Col. Lawson, Capt. Wecoal, and 8 other prisoners brought from Virginia in the Otter, were confined in the castle. Three other masters of vessels, which have been taken and captured into St. Augustine, came with Capt. Bissel.

Capt. James Righton, of the sloop Fanny and Nancy, who arrived here a few days since, spoke with Capt. Jeremiah Morgan, from Bourdeaux, bound to Philadelphia, out six weeks; on the 23d of October he put into Bermuda to get water.
