Full Text

Randolph.

Ithial Scates, Esq., raised on one acre of land twenty-four and one-half bushels of wheat, and about 300 bushels of potatoes of the Jackson White variety from the same quantity of land, and as we can testify, no better potatoes can be found in the county.

John C. Leighton, Esq., one of our former County Commissioners, raised on one and one-half acres thirty-seven and three-fourths bushels of wheat, very nice, and which makes most excellent flour. Who says we cannot produce good crops of wheat in this section? Sections of our town produce as good crops, and are as easily cultivated as any portion of the county, although we admit that there is a tract entirely unfit for cultivation.
