Heavy Ticket Sale Indicates Large Crowd At Seventh Annual President's Birthday Ball Tonight

Local Ball To Be Held At Beautiful New Montezuma Ballroom While Patagonia Woman's Club Stages Similar Affair In Patagonia

With all committees functioning perfectly and a heavy advance sale of tickets indicating a large crowd, Nogales is all set for the seventh annual President's Ball at the beautiful new Montezuma Ballroom tonight.

The ball, one of Nogales' biggest annual social events, will start promptly at 9 o'clock and will last until at least 1 a.m. Music will be furnished by Peltier's Orchestra.

Persons who have not yet obtained tickets may do so at the entrance to the ballroom tonight or from any one of several persons who have been handling the sale this week. Among this number are Judge and Mrs. Gordon Farley, Mrs. Jeff Jones, E. S. Edmonson, A. J. Mitchell, Rudolph Fleischer, Don Smith and Mrs. Dave Wilkey.

Admission is 75c per person. A cake will be given as a door prize to the person holding the lucky ticket at a drawing to take place during the dance.

Judge Gordon Farley is county chairman of all activities held in connection with the celebration of the President's birthday this year.

While the Nogales dance is under way a similar affair will be taking place at Patagonia where the Patagonia Senior Women's Club is in charge of arrangements.

Half of the proceeds from the balls will be retained here to fight infantile paralysis and the other half forwarded to the National Foundation For Infantile Paralysis, Inc., in New York.
