Steamer on the Pend d'Oreille.

The N. P. R. R. Company are placing above Thompson Falls on the Pend d'Oreille, a small steamer, to be used in transporting supplies and material from point to point on the upper river. The boat will run as far East as the mouth of the Jocko, and will probably also be able to accommodate travelers passing along the line of construction, thereby saving them many a rough mile over the newly made wagon road on the northern bank of the river. The primeval solitudes of all our navigable waters will soon echo the ever advancing steam whistle, and the dusky denizens of the forest will be startled into a realization of the fact, that their emigration to other and less disturbed hunting grounds is in order.
