EXPECT HASTIE CONFIRMATION SOON BY SENATE
WASHINGTON, Apr. 30 (ANP)—Speedy confirmation by the United States senate is expected for William H. Hastie, former dean of the Howard Law school, who was passed upon by the senate subcommittee for the post, by a vote of 11 to 2, with only the two southern senators, Eastland of Mississippi and Ellender of Louisiana, voting in the negative. The nomination will come before the senate and it is expected that Judge Hastie soon will be on his way to his new post in the Virgin islands.
