Thrown from Motorcycle Through Windshield of Automobile In a Hospital at Ludlow, Mass.
Arthur Vickers is in a hospital at Ludlow, Mass., recovering from injuries received when his motorcycle was in a collision near that city Wednesday evening. The impact when the two machines came together was so great that Vickers was thrown through the windshield of the automobile. No bones were broken but his face and hands were seriously cut by the broken glass. He also suffered the force with which he was thrown from his seat.
At the hospital it was said that he would recover but would probably have to stay there for a week.
He is employed by Medbury and Trowbridge in delivering ice. After he got through work Wednesday afternoon he started on his motorcycle for a ride. The news that he was hurt reached here Thursday but his friends had difficulty in locating him as it was first reported that he was in a Springfield hospital.
His sister is the former Miss Florence Vickers of Fremont street. She is now married and lives at Chaplin.
