Five area officers have received orders transferring them to other duties.
Heading the list are CAPT Thomas A. Brown of the Naval Supply Depot, CAPT Richard C. Harwood and CDR Joseph P. F. Gallagher of the Naval Station.
CAPT Brown, Commanding Officer of NSD, has received orders transferring him to duties as assistant chief for transportation and facilities in the Bureau of Supplies and Accounts in Washington.
He will be relieved at NSD by CAPT Jack G. Dean, now on duty at BUSANDA. Change of command ceremonies will take place at 1100 on 7 Sept. in Building 11 at the Depot.
CAPT Harwood will report to the Naval Construction Battalion Center at Davisville, while Chaplain Gallagher has been ordered to the Naval Station at Guam.
Other area officers scheduled for departure soon are CAPT Clyde J. VanArsdall, chief of staff and aide to ComDesLant, to duty at Naval Operations in Washington, and CDR Roger E. Spreen, from DesLant to Commanding Officer of USS LUCE.
