ALWAYS NAGGING AT WATSON.

It is said that the committee tried to get the services of Tom Watson, as many of them were members of the old Watson faction in this county, and are still great admirers of him. It is also said that Watson consented to take charge of the matter, provided the committee would agree to put up the sum of $1,000. It was found that this sum was not so easy to raise, however, so a compromise has been made on a lawyer who is willing to take a little less for his services. The name of the attorney has not been divulged, though report has it that it will be a well known lawyer from a nearby city.

The above is from Thomasville, and appears in The Macon Telegraph.

It is not true. I informed the gentlemen that it is impossible for me to take any case, at any price, and I recommended Hon. J. Gordon Jones, of Cordele, who has been employed.
