The St. Louis Globe Democrat states that prominent parties in Texas will soon bring suit in the Court of Claims, at Washington, to recover the value of slaves emancipated during the late war. The action will be based chiefly on certain clauses in the State Constitution which were approved and indorsed by Congress at the time of annexation, and which, it is claimed, makes the Government of the United States liable for slave property. The plaintiff in the case was a strong and very pronounced Union man during the war, and his proposed action is indorsed, and will be pushed by some of the best lawyers in Texas.
