END OF TERM DRAWING NEAR
Only Five More Criminal Cases to Be Disposed of--Many Cases "Nolle Prosed."
Only five more criminal cases remain upon the docket, and according to Judge David H. Craig, the criminal docket will be cleared within the next few days. A number of cases have been passed and the action of "nolle prosequi" enters many more.
The criminal cases yet to be tried are:
State of Wyoming vs. George Powers; stealing livestock.
State of Wyoming vs. S. V. Bowles: same.
State of Wyoming vs. E. J. Mott arson.
State of Wyoming vs. Dan Creedon stealing livestock.
State of Wyoming vs. Dr. Sawtelle practicing medicine without a license.
The criminal cases which will not come up for trial this term, and those dismissed entirely are the following:
Harry Nethercott, illegal sale of liquor; defendant left state.
William Raum, same.
Kuzma Poull, grand larceny; broke jail.
Tom Church and Ed Brown, suffering from insidious disease; nolle pros.
D. P. Feeney, passed.
John Anderson and John Olson practicing medicine without license; nolle pros. as to Olson, passed as to Anderson.
John B. Somsen, abandonment of children: passed.
Catherine Penman, attempt to commit criminal abortion.
C. C. Wainwright, illegal sale of liquor.
Warren Tolman, felonious threats.
Dan Melakoych, grand larceny; escaped from custody.
Matt Pauls, grand larceny.
John McPhee and John Ross, robbery; escaped from Big Piney jail.
William Clark, felonious assault.
John C. Mason, desertion of minor children.
Albert Shinsky, Guy Rose and Sam Lycett, trespass.
C. A. Fuller, same.
Sam Daviney, assault and battery.
Leonard Buck and James Buck, felonious threats.
Tom Crain, blackmailing.
It is expected that the court will devote attention to civil cases by the first of next week, and as there are only four cases wherein parties to the suits have demanded jury trials, it is believed that the present term of the district court will have finished both dockets at the end of next week.
