ORPHEUM THEATER FOUND O. K. BY COMMITTEE OF MOTHERS' CONGRESS WANT PRECEPTRESS AT HIGH SCHOOL
The Orpheum theatre, under its present management, was highly commended by the members of the Mothers' Congress at their meeting, held Friday afternoon. A committee from the congress was appointed to visit the picture shows of Greeley, and their report was that the Orpheum under its present management has pictures which are not in the least objectionable, and that they have many that are of excellent educational value.
The matter of placing a flag in each school room in Greeley was discussed, and the congress will work with the D. A. R. on the proposition and formulate some plan whereby a flag may be placed in each school room of the public schools.
A suggestion will also be made to the school board that a preceptress be appointed for the high school girls.
The high school dances will also be discussed, some mothers being of the opinion that the dances should be under the direction of the school board, properly chaperoned and dismissed at a reasonable hour, and others thought that the school board should not sanction the dances.
The next meeting of the congress will be held the second Friday in October, and it is hoped that the state president will be present at that time.
