Atmospheric Phenomenon.

The remarkable exhibition which occurred on Sunday night, the 28th ult., has been noticed by the newspapers in various parts of the country. The same phenomenon occurred again on Friday morning last, beginning about 12 o'clock and lasting till near day light. A gentleman of this place informs us that he could read all the merchant's signs in our streets as distinctly as during the day. There was a general illumination of the heavens, and no streaks of light as have usually appeared. The sky was not clouded as on the previous occasions.

The display on Friday night, which commenced about 9 o'clock, resembled the ordinary aurora borealis, but was much more beautiful than anything of the kind we have ever witnessed.
