Full Text

THE Committee for providing relief for the sick of this city, have received a letter from Dr. George Logan, in which he informs them that he has very recently paid a visit to the hospital at Bush Hill, and found the house perfectly clean, without any offensive smell: that the sick are well accommodated, and every attention given to render their situation easy and comfortable, by citizens Gerard and Hume—that the visiting physicians are patiently attentive to the complaints of each individual of the sick—their practice appeared rational; and that he was informed a free and easy use of blisters had been attended with the most beneficial effects. Dr. Logan recommends it as an indispensable duty, to dispatch persons to the hospital in the earliest stage of the disorder; and that the practice of some, in not sending their friends till they are past all medical assistance, has probably been the cause of many deaths which by a more early attention might have been prevented. On his return from Bush-Hill, Doctor Logan met a man conveying thither, that was breathing his last.
