Full Text
Establishment of four highway patrol districts in the state, instead of three as in the past, was announced today by J. P. Arnoldy, chief patrol officer. District headquarters will be in Mankato, Willmar, Brainerd and St. Paul, with a lieutenant in charge of each district.
Previously there were three general patrol districts, but all were supervised by officers who worked out of the headquarters office in St. Paul. Under the new system, each district will have a lieutenant constantly within its boundaries, with a definite district office.
Lieutenant J. G. Dahl will be in charge of District No. 1 headquarters at St. Paul; Lieutenant E. M. Larimer at Willmar, Lieutenant R. F. Potvin at Mankato and Lieutenant Neil Gordon, District No. 2 at Brainerd. All of these men have been acting in supervisory capacities in the past, except Neil Gordon, who has just been promoted to a lieutenancy. The four lieutenants will be under direct supervision of Bert R. Morton, assistant chief of the patrol.
