On Friday the 27th ult. a very melancholy accident happened at Feedinghills, West-Springfield: as Mr. Ozias Foster, a worthy, industrious citizen was returning home from a blacksmith's shop where he had been to have some repairs made to his cart, turning a short corner into a lane, sitting in his cart and not being in that instant particularly attentive to his team, they made a rapid movement into the lane abovementioned, when one of the wheels running on the corner of the fence or a stump, suddenly overset the cart. It appeared on examination of the body of the deceased, that the rave of the cart struck a little below the breast, crushed and broke several of his ribs: one of the wheels run across his face which broke his jaw, &c. He survived but a few hours—that day, fortnight he followed his wife to the grave. He has left a very numerous family connection to lament his loss, and the public have lost in him a kind, benevolent, inoffensive neighbor, unceasing in laborious employments and a desire to be useful to his fellow citizens. He had just entered on the 70th year of his age.
