WHY AID JAPAN?

If U. S. brass manufacturers have been forced to curtail production because of a shortage of zinc while zinc is still being shipped to Japan in large quantities, as charged by C. Donald Dallas, president of Revere Copper and Brass, Inc., we wonder why.

Deliveries which are desperately needed by Great Britain have been curtailed, Dallas asserts but the U. S. shipped 3,775 tons of zinc to Japan in October, bringing the total for the year to 12,042 tons.

"The same zinc which we allowed to be delivered to Japan was so badly needed at the time by our brass manufacturers that fabricating plants all over the country are being forced to curtail production schedules when they should be increasing," says Dallas.
