By the Albany post that arrived last night, we have advice, that the brave Major Rogers has had another brush with the French: He, with 200 rangers, being out on a scout, landed about three miles from Nut Island, the 4th instant, but were soon attacked by 300 of the enemy, when a smart Engagement immediately commenced, and ended greatly to the disadvantage of the French, they being soon obliged to fly, having between 40 and 50 men killed and wounded.

The Major brought off three Indian scalps, but had 10 men killed and 9 wounded: Among the former were Capt. Johnson of the rangers, and Ensign Wood of General Monckton's.
