Full Text

In spite of the Caterpillars or the drought, the crops of wheat in Virginia are said to be uncommonly fine. What is still better for the farmers is, that the price of it is likely to be very good. Wheat sold at Liverpool on the 8th of April at 12s. 6d. sterling for the bushel of 70 lbs. superfine flour from 54 to 56s. sterling and on the rise. Should the British be shut out of the Baltic Ports of Prussia for some time, particularly from Dantzic whence they annually import large cargoes of wheat, and till more should there be a short harvest in G. B. we may expect that our own wheat will command very high prices.
