Full Text

New-York, Sept. 27.

Patriotic offer -- Capt. Jonathan Ferris, of the artillery of this city, in behalf of the company he commands, has made a tender of their services in defence of their country should the exigency of the times require them. His excellency the governor politely thanks them for their offer, and declares his acceptance of it whenever it may be necessary. We hope, with his excellency, that the good sense of the belligerents of Europe, quickened by the spirit of our own government, will prevent any requisition upon the military patriotism of our citizens. But should a different issue of our national grievances unfortunately take place, we have no doubt the company of capt. Ferris will be found in the front rank of the defenders of our rights. -- Col.
