CONSIDERING the present as an eventful era in the annals of America, which, if duly embraced, will result in lasting peace and prosperity to the country, that the vigour of civil liberty depends, in an eminent degree, upon the personage who is Chief in Administration, and that the voice of freemen will ever be that of reason and expedience; we take the liberty of nominating, as Electors of President and Vice-President of the United States,
CONSTANT TABER, Esq. of Newport,
JAMES HELME, Esq. of S. Kingstown,
JAMES ALDRICH, Esq. of Scituate, and
BENJAMIN TILLINGHAST, Esq. of East-Greenwich.
They are gentlemen of tried and known integrity and patriotism—friends to the Constitution of their country, and warmly attached to her liberties and real interest.
