Montreal, June 21.—The Canadian sales tax was declared "economically unsound" by Dominion business men at the annual convention of the Canadian Manufacturers' Association in this city.
The tax was recently reduced from six to five per cent. It was declared that the tax has raised the cost of living in Canada, has pyramided costs to manufacturers and placed a heavy handicap on them.
