Thursday Morning last Capt. Spear arrived here in 11 Days from Bermudas; He has been missing Vessel near four Months, having sailed from Louisbourg for this Place the 17th of December last; but the 3d Day after he sailed, meeting with a bad Storm which carried away his Rudder, he was left to the Mercy of the Sea for several Days; in which Time all their Provision was exhausted, and the Crew reduced to the utmost Extremity, having nothing left to support them but a poor Dog, which they determined to kill; but Providence so ordering, that a Shark came along, which they caught with an Iron Spike bent in the Form of a Hook, on which they subsisted till they arrived at Bermudas.
